Effective July 15, 2008, Romeo's Law.  Romeo's Law changes dog or cat torture to a Class D felony on the first offense if the dog or cat suffers serious physical injury or death as a result of the torture.

Effective July 13, 2004, Kentucky State Law regarding required rabies vaccinations has been amended to include not only dogs, but also cats and ferrets.  Every owner shall have his dog, cat, or ferret initially vaccinated against rabies by the age of four (4) months and revaccinated at the expiration of the immunization.

Effective July 13, 2004, Victory at last for Kentucky!  Kentucky State Law now prohibits the use of gunshot as a means of euthanasia.
