Low Cost Spay & Neuter Clinic

The Humane Society Animal League for Life is very excited to now be offering high quality, low cost, spay and neuter services, in-house, with veterinarian Lorie Fuller, DVM. We strongly believe every community should strive to provide these affordable services to residents to help insure all pets can be spayed or neutered.  Spayed or neutered pets are healthier, generally live longer, and do not add to the alarming statistics of pet overpopulation.  Unless our communities pull together to tackle the problem of pet overpopulation, animals will continue to suffer, become unwanted, feral or stray, and ultimately be euthanized in over-crowded shelters.  There simply are not enough homes for all the homeless pets, nor can rescue groups save them all.  Spaying and neutering is essential to stop the problem at its root!  Our Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic is located at 128-C Big Hill Avenue in Richmond, Kentucky.

Our Low Cost Spay/Neuter prices are as follows:

Cats
Male Neuter ....... $30
Female Spay ...... $40
Dogs
Male Neuter ....... $40
Female Spay ...... $60
*Dogs over 50 pounds are $10 extra.

Prices include:  Rabies Shot and Core Vaccines (available only with spay/neuter)

Appointments are available on Mondays only.  Please call our voicemail service in advance at 859-626-5600 and choose option #2 to request more information, or to schedule an appointment.  Please leave a message and a Humane Society A.L.L. volunteer will call you back as soon as possible.

  • What is the Minimum Age to Spay or Neuter?

The minimum age is 3 months for both dogs and cats, assuming they are large enough and healthy enough to undergo surgery.

  • What to Expect?

Once you schedule your spay or neuter appointment, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire and will be given specific instructions on what to expect and how to prepare for your pet's surgery.  Pets will typically be dropped off the morning of their surgery and picked up, later the same day.

Drop off time is between 7:30-8:15 a.m. the morning of surgery.

Once you have made an appointment to have your pet spayed or neutered, please refer to these instructions:
